Course Specification
This is an ideal starting place for students who have no knowledge of the Italian language.
This is a 30 week, 2 hours per week course.
The classes are carried out in a friendly/informal manner and will introduce you to the Italian language and culture by covering a range of topics.
The emphasis of the course is for the students to start developing their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
At the end of the course, you will be able to get by in everyday situations such as:
- Talking about your personal details including your family. Your likes and dislikes. Your free time.
- Booking and checking into a room in a hotel. Making simple requests.
- Booking and ordering a table and a meal in a restaurant.
- Ordering snacks and drinks in a “BAR”.
- Understanding directions and simple instructions for how to find places. Asking about the opening and closing times of places.
- Travelling by train and by bus. Buying tickets. Enquiring about timetables.
- Talking about things and activities that you generally do on holiday and in your weekly routine.
We use a textbook supported by the handouts provided by the teacher.
